About the iO
We represent nearly three-quarters of registered osteopaths and two-thirds of the current student body across the UK.
Our mission is to support, unite, develop and promote the profession for the improvement of public health and patient care.
Membership is an investment in our work to realise our vision for the profession; to see Osteopathy become a growing and thriving profession, recognised for its expertise as healthcare professionals, and increase access to osteopathic care to as many people as possible.

Mentoring
Mentoring has a great deal of benefits, from developing skills and improving performance to providing a fantastic stepping-stone to helping you become the person you want to be. Both satisfying and rewarding, mentoring can be a tool to boost your career either as a mentor or a mentee and is a legitimate form of CPD.
To support you on your mentoring journey, we have created a mentoring toolkit designed to help illustrate the difference that mentoring can make to you and the care you provide to your patients. We also have an introduction to mentoring video available as well as a dedicated mentoring platform specially designed to facilitate and promote mentoring within the profession.
